Kings and Priests

Our previous discussion again impressed the significance of time spent in His Prescence.  The intimate place where The Word, (bread of life) is first broken by Christ (the teacher) and received, of the hearer (the student).  The hearer first partakes of the bread, then takes The Word, out of the secret place and shares it openly for others to partake.

Let’s examine Job chapter 29 in support.  Job, in his affliction, is bringing to remembrance “the golden days” of his past.

Oh that I were as in months past, as in the days when God preserved me;

When his candle shined upon my head, and when by his light I walked through darkness; (Job 29:2-3 KJV)

If you read, There is Purpose for the Wilderness post, The Word, was the light that navigated Job out of his darkness (wilderness), and the place where he obtained a hearing ear.  We see this confirmed further in the book of Job, when he received his spiritual vison:

I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee. (Job 42:5 KJV)

Lets continue…

As I was in the days of my youth, when the secret of God was upon my tabernacle; When the Almighty was yet with me,…(Job 29:4-5 KJV)

Job reflects upon the time when he was in divine fellowship with God, the secret place, in His Presence.

When the ear heard me, then it blessed me… (Job 29:11 KJV)

When Job spoke The Word, and others heard, he himself received satisfaction.  This is the same concept Jesus referred to when he said to his disciples, “I have food to eat that you know nothing about.” (John 4:32 NIV) It brought Job delight to do the work of God, just as it brought Jesus delight to do the work of his father.

Further…

I put on righteousness as my clothing; (Job 29:14 KJV)

In the Presence of the King post, we uncovered the inner garments, that make us righteous or continually “right standing” in the service of the King.

Unto me men gave ear, and waited, and kept silence at my counsel. After my words they spake not again; … they waited for me as the rain; and they opened their mouth wide… I chose out their way, and dwelt as a king… as one that comforteth the mourners.

(Job 29:21-25 KJV)

Job received his instruction in the secret place, and he shared it with others.  It brought answers to their uncertainties, so that they were confounded and had nothing to say in return.  They waited for his council, as if he was a ruler.  Their mouths open, meaning: they were spiritually hungry, and he fed them.  He was able to comfort them, with the same comfort he received in His Presence.

…who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. (2 Cor 1:4 KJV)

Another physical representation of this manifestation is clearly represented in the institution of a priesthood by Moses, all holding spiritual relevance.  It would take writing a book to study all the spiritual significance.

A Priest was to sanctify himself for service to the Lord, as an ambassador and/or mediator between the Lord and the people.  Specified cleansing and priest garments were to be worn upon entering behind the vail and serving in the tabernacle (the secret place).

You see, God’s divine plan is to make his children Kings and Priests (Rev. 5:10 KJV) to the surrounding, hurting, world around them.  He provides for us an access for divine fellowship and comfort, so that we in turn can share it with others.

For Ezra (the priest) had prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments. (Ezra 7:10 KJV)
