Speak the Word

Previously, one of the greatest personal obstacles I’ve faced in regards to ministering, or sharing of my faith with others, was the pondering question: What will I say??

However, when I encountered his presence, in the patient waiting and seeking him in stillness, humbly made able to receive wisdom and understanding, I discovered that God truly will even provide the needed words to be said.  The wisdom and understanding received in solitude, itself will do the ministering to others.  Simply, speak the word received, and become the channel from which the word is released from.

Notice, Paul in his letter to the Corinthian Church proclaims,

For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you:… (1 Cor. 11:23 BSB)

Many times, throughout the ministry of Christ, he affirmed that he was not speaking words of his own, but those received from the father,

…whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak. (John 12:50 KJV)

Ezekiel, a prophet of the Old Testament was given specific instruction,

You must speak my words to them, whether they listen or fail to listen… (Eze. 2:7 NIV)

and

…I have made you a watchman…; therefore hear a word from My mouth, and give them warning from Me: (3:17)

Notice, how the word “hear” precedes the word “give”. In order to become that channel you must hear, and then you are able to give.

Not only does he provide the necessary words, he also sets divine encounters with those who are hungry for it.

“The Lord GOD has given Me The tongue of the learned, That I should know how to speak A word in season to him who is weary. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear To hear as the learned. (Is. 50:4 NKJV)

Isaiah claims morning by morning, he is awakened to hear the word, as a student he receives it.  And he is able to release that word, at just the right time, to a hungry, weary soul.

You see, your heart becomes a treasure box for the all the different words you receive.  You become a “keeper of his words”.

In the book of Acts, chapter 8, is recorded an episode of Philip ministering the word to a group called the Samaritans,

…they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word

…the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake

This group set their mind and attention to the word being administered to them.

…unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.  And there was great joy in that city.

The Samaritans have witnessed the transforming power of the word in it's fullness!
