Secrets of the Kingdom
My husband and I recently stumbled upon an exclusive video interview with a very successful billionaire from Dubai.
Throughout the interview, he shared his journey from poverty to success and insights into the culture of the United Arab Emirates. He explained why it has become so successful and how it has so rapidly emerged as a global influencer.
The first thing that caught my attention was their culture of serving others. He explained how, from a young age, he learned to notice the needs of those around him. He attributed his growth in wealth and influence to his commitment to serving the poor. "We go beyond just helping our family," he noted. "Everyone who comes to me for help, I try to assist in one way or another." He also mentioned that he teaches his children to do the same. He explained that there is a sense of contentment and a reward that follows from doing good for others.
I couldn't believe how closely this related to the Gospel's message. Jesus taught his disciples that the path to greatness begins with serving others.
"Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave—just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many" (Matt. 20:26-28)
The second thing that caught my attention was the culture of leadership. He explained that their leaders differ from those in much of the world because they engage directly with their citizens. In Dubai, our leaders are very approachable, making it easy for citizens to secure a meeting with nobles for consultation on business or other matters. Our leaders genuinely want their citizens to thrive and succeed, so they share insights and strategies and mentor them along the way. Unlike in many Western cultures, where people tend to guard and gatekeep their secrets to success, our leaders do not look down on their citizens; instead, they come down to their level and provide them with the resources needed for success.
Their culture also mimics a Biblical principle that illustrates the Kingdom of Heaven. God, the King of the universe, sent His Son, Jesus, to Earth to reveal the secrets of His kingdom to us. Despite being infinitely superior and higher, He makes Himself very approachable. He humbles Himself and is willing to mentor us. If only we dedicate our time and attention to Him, He is ready to share the secrets of the Kingdom that can help us thrive and live life to the fullest.
To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of God…(Luke 8:10)

This is soooo good 💕💕💕
