Your Best You

The relationship between husband and wife is truly remarkable. My husband and I often wonder how we would have turned out without each other. We help one another become the best versions of ourselves. I remind him about healthy eating: “No, you can't eat that”, or " You probably should eat this, while he manages our finances: “No, you can't buy that, " " No, we can't go there”, and overlooks most of our spending.

We may not always like having limitations, but they keep us on track. They navigate us. Sometimes they may feel like they are hindering us and holding us back from reaching our full potential, but in reality, they help us become the best version of ourselves.

I believe the same applies to the difficult circumstances we sometimes face. We often want to escape them and ask God to remove them. They may seem to hold us back from living our best life, but God often uses these same situations to bring out our best qualities and guide us toward the destiny and purpose he has planned for us.

Paul wrote about a thorn in his flesh, and he asked God to remove it on many

occasions, but God replied that his grace was sufficient and that his power was made perfect in weakness.  Paul later reflects on the start of his ministry of preaching the Gospel and how, in fact, the illness was not a setback as one may assume but propelled his ministry forward to preach the Gospel.

….As you know, it was because of an illness that I first preached the gospel to you,…(Ga . 4:13)
