After the 2023 Geneva Labor Conference this year, the US Department of Labor announced a new initiative they plan to put forth.  It’s called the Apprenticeship Ambassador Initiative.

In hopes of boosting and strengthening our American workforce, apprenticeships are to be reintroduced and encouraged.

Contrary to the existing work model, apprenticeships allow individuals to pursue a notable career without any prior formal training. Participating industries promise and commit to provide hired workers all the training and skills necessary to perform their jobs.  All that’s required from the laborer is their daily commitment of showing up on the job.

God’s Kingdom however has always utilized the apprenticeship work model.  Biblically also known as discipleship.

God never required prerequisite training or skills in order to become a laborer in his Kingdom.  He bids us to come as we are and he will make of us what he sees best fit.

Though most labor models have always hired and honored the most qualified, God’s model hires and honors the faithful and makes them qualified.

In his letter to Timothy, Paul writes…

And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has enabled me, because He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry,... (1 Ti. 1:12 NKJV)

In other words, It was God who noticed my faithfulness, therefore he "made me able" to do what I do for the ministry.

Have you ever caught yourself wondering what you can possibly offer God and for the cause of his Kingdom.  Well, God is not looking for what you can offer.

He’s looking to find you faithful and willing to show up no matter what.  Thus he will disciple and equip you to be what he has called you to be.

“God does not call the qualified, He qualifies the called!”
