Passionate

Both of our older daughters are very passionate athletes.  They eagerly look forward to the start of every new season, keeping us on our toes.

Though both begin with so much passion and enthusiasm, something happens to one mid-season.  All of her zeal and excitement windles down to remorse.  Now she drags her feet to every practice.  “Do I have to go?”, she moans.

She depends on us to keep her going.  In fact, if it wasn’t for my husband and I consistently cheering her on, she'd probably soon quit the team.

(vs. 13-15)

We find them disappointed and discouraged.(vs. 17-21)

But it’s in the company of Jesus that disappointment and discouragement get exchanged for passion and zeal.

An encounter with a friendly traveler who happened to be Jesus himself reignites their hearts with newfound passion and zeal.

Was not our heart burning within us, while he spake to us in the way,…(vs. 32)
