Choose Joy by Ava K

 

Ava is my 8 year old daughter.   A few months ago, we had a brief discussion about the difference between Happiness and Joy.  A few days ago she told me she wanted to create a power point presentation because they were just learning how to navigate google slides at school.  When she was done I thought it was so cute, I asked her for permission to share it on my blog.  I did not want to correct it to preserve its authenticity.  Maybe someone will find it helpful. She even choose the picture above.

Joy and happiness are two different things.You only  have happiness for a short period of time. Joy  stays in your heart forever.Have you ever heard the song If your happy and you know it? If you did, how long were you happy for? It’s the same with new toys, how long does it take you to say i’m not playing with this any more or this toy is so boring?

 

A new toy for me makes me happy for a week or two How about you?Now , Joy  is a choice and not a feeling you have a choice  to be  joyful .Let's review what being happy and joyful means.Like I said before you only have happiness for a short period of time, Joy stays in your heart forever. Joy doesn't mean your not going to go through hard times though.

 

When my mom told me joy doesn't mean your not going to go through bad  times I was shocked.I asked mom? Didnt  you said that joy stays in your heart forever?She said that she meant it stays in  your heart forever so when your in these  bad times you still have joy in your heart so you can be joyful though those tough times.That was it I finally understood what it meant and it sounds crazy but I have to admit that was one of the best days of my life.  

 

Maybe you don't believe me but please do everything in this presentation happened to me maybe your thinking she a kid she cant make that big of a difference but trust me one kid can make a huge difference like kid president he touched lives by being funny to get people's attention.So next time you have a choice between joy and happiness maybe now you know what to pick.
