His perfect Will

It’s very common for a believer to often wonder what their purpose and calling in life is. A common prayer might be “God what is your plan for my life? or “What is your will for my Life?

A desire or an inner longing is present, which strongly convicts the believer that there has to be more to life than living for self.  And frequently, the expectation is that God will suddenly reveal his plan if we are persistent enough in asking.

Yet as I studied the lives of believers throughout the pages of scripture, God very seldom reveals his plans to man. And truly, it’s probably best that we do not know the plan, as it would be too grand for our minds to handle.

He does however call us for a life of discipleship. which simply means becoming a close follower.  Jesus frequently called individuals to follow him, and to come and learn from me.

 learn of me…(Matt. 11:29 KJV)

Spending time in his presence is learning from him.  The more time you spend in his presence, the more you become transformed into his likeness.  Every thought that does not agree with his word, is replaced with his truth.  He replaces our thoughts with his thoughts. And thus, we become continuously cleansed of mindsets that don’t agree with him.

Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. (John 15:3 KJV)

And in-turn, receive his mind and outlook of the world around us.  The transformation is not always entirely evident to the disciple, but as he/she continues in his presence, slowly they become instructed to not just be a “hearer” of the word, but also a “ doer” of the word.

But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. (James 1:22 NLT)

If you recall our first post where we found Mary, at the feet of Jesus, “hearing every word”.  Somewhere in between, this same Mary was transformed from a “hearer” to a “hearer and doer”.  Just prior to his crucifixion, she was found ministering to his body.

So they hosted a dinner for Jesus there. Martha served, and Lazarus was among those reclining at the table with Him.  Then Mary took about a pint of expensive perfume, made of pure nard, and she anointed Jesus’ feet and wiped them with her hair. (John 12:3 BSB)

Today, ministering to the body of Christ, is in fact ministering to his Church.

You see, this is the most authentic form of Bible school.  And you can attend from any possible location you’re positioned on the globe. Through the word, he will disciple you every step of the way.  You will no longer wonder what his will is, but will discover it as you daily live it out.

…but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (Ro. 12:2 KJV)

But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. (1 John 2:27 KJV)
